Great novel in my opinion.
MC has a cheat that lets him extract attributes from an object and then insert that attribute to another object.
For example. A children’s book is easy to understand. So mc can extract that “easy to understand” attribute from the children’s book and add it to his cultivation technique.
Then his cultivation technique will also become easier to understand.
This novel starts very cliche, but it is well written.
The best thing about this novel is the mc.
The mc is calm, patient, humble and also hard working.
He is truly smart and always keeps a cool mind, rarely gets angry and never lets his emotions get the better of him.
He knows how to endure and forbear when he is weak.
He knows when to be low key and when to show off.
He is also decisive. He doesn’t forgive his enemies just because of blood relations. He even decisively abandoned the family that hated him.
The main antagonist of this novel is also great, he is arrogant, but not the young master type. Extremely ruthless and focused on cultivation.
Everytime he appears you will really feel a threat and you will really feel that he is an extremely tough opponent.
The romance is also great, it is not harem. The female lead has great character. MC and female lead kinda love each other but they haven’t entered in a relationship.
They are taking their time, the development is pretty great.
And the side characters of this novel are also pretty good.

Pretty good review, what I’d like to add is the following:
The protagonists body has been through some stuff, first his mom runs off leaving him behind with a family of narcissistic, selfish, entitled morons, secondly he’s treated worse than a dog (his words not mine) because of this plus some other factors, the only 2 people in a family with dozens if not hundreds of members that treat him well is his stepmom and her maid.
So while it is true that MC is hardworking, steady and patient what compelled him to be so are the circumstances and not an innate reason.
While I do enjoy passing through hardship to achieve a grand goal, so that victory taste forever sweet, I hate it when the losing foe stares at you and shrugs it off and persistently presses the fact that you just got lucky, you’re nothing, you’re trash. I just got tired of that reaction! Give me something different for Mt. Tai sake!
Romance is half-baked, while it’s great to have it, I would rather not, why? Well as someone once said “Women will only affect the speed at which I draw my sword!” why muddy the waters with romance?
If done right, it’s great, you have a partner, a companion who will follow and keep up with you as you progress through dao, watches your back, you discuss stuff with her, but in most cases it will only be there for self satisfaction, she will be a jade vase who will be place neatly on a shelf and properly dust off once every 20 chapters, just to show people “look what I got”.
The plot isn’t hard to follow, basic concept, cheat is peculiar but not bad, I would extrapolate and explore the cheat itself until I know the whys/hows, but the author just like the rest leaves a concept but doesn’t thoroughly explores it.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s innate or because of circumstances, what matters is that the MC is humble and works hard.
Every mc doesn’t need to be an innate hard worker, that would make the novel world boring if every mc is the same.
While his enemies do bark that he is lucky again and again, but soon the mc becomes so good that they cannot even make excuses anymore and then they despair.
The heroine here actually doesn’t affect the speed of drawing sword. Because she is far FAR stronger than mc. And she helped him on many occasions.
And it’s better to have romance than to not have it. Because it makes the mc more realistic. It’s almost impossible for a healthy teen to not have a crush on someone.
And our mc is not even someone who is suffering from betrayal plot either.
He has met many awesome women in his life that helped and protected him. So he doesn’t have any reason to not be interested in them.
As for the cheat, mc is not even strong enough to fly, let alone explore his cheat that even immortals have no idea of.
You gotta wait for him to be stronger atleast.

It can be seen in multiple novels. Especially the ones in which mc has low talent and tries to avoid women.

Btw Shin, don’t this plotline and details looks extremely similar to old classic novels? I mean, even if I pick a random name like Peerless Battle Spirit, Devouring System, Crazy Leveling System, Martial Peak….too many names.
Except for those novels have mc starting as trash and have a mysterious powerhouse father who was once a genius, everything else look same.
They all have this setting of hated by whole clan or family but some women dot on them for some reason (a maid is always included) who are then turned into dead weights and then forgotten soon after, how are you guys not bored by this setting smh.

But the women in this novel are different from those cliche novels.
Here, only 2 women admire mc in a romantic way, and the mc is only interested in 1.
And there is indeed a maid in this novel, but she is like MC’s sister. There has never been any hint of romance between them.
The rest of the women simp for the main antagonist instead and look down on mc.
Even after mc defeated the villain the women’s opinion didn’t change.
And unlike those novels, the mc here is not brain-dead.

Indeed, the author of this novel is especially good in provoking readers hatred. And also relieving
that hatred.
He will make you truly hate some characters of this novel from the very bottom of your heart.

In my opinion, this is a good novel, butchered by the plot. In the end, it is an extremely average novel.

He keeps meeting girls and the subject of concubines keeps popping out. If I had to say, the Author is being indecisive about whether to go polygamy or not. The first few chapters were quite good. The Author makes the characters seem unfathomable deep, but they become weak and have low IQs in the next few chapters. The System is forgotten. The Author ruined his story.
The only way this story can be saved is if the MC kills the entire family and moves on. But with the Chinese author, I doubt it will ever happen.
You can read it to pass some time, but take it as a fast food type of novel without much expectation.
Just finished the 420 chapters available, I’m disappointed, I’m sad to see a good premise go to waste. Started out quite good, the motive was there, the cheat was not to over the top compare to others, the characters had a role to follow in the plot. Seems like the author has the concept sketched up, but the problem is the execution and the time needed to arrive at the destination.
It takes to long for things to have a proper conclusion, I mind this because the story arc should have reached the end of the “family” part long ago. It just over complicates a simple arc and drags on and on.
From the way this story goes we have 3 options: a) the story will go on forever and reach chapter 6000+ where he goes to the 4th realm and must re-cultivate again because reasons b) the author rushes the end without exploring the world because he find things too tedious c) the story gets axed
Bruh how can the family arc end “long ago”?
His biological grandfather is supposed to be at the 3rd level, even his cousin is at the 5th level.
The MC’s family is filled with people that are far far stronger than him.
So how can he end it just like that. He will die in an all out war bruh.

Few plot holes. But MC is not stupid nor braindead.

Overall, I read this fic, so not bad, average.
I do have few gripes. Author did stretch needless things to extend the plot over many chapters. I always felt grateful that i wasn’t paying for chapter to read this novel.
MC also uses his power efficiently, later on he doesn’t get to use it much. I just think Author wasn’t creative enough to use them.
