I have read up to chapter 153. The novel is extremely detailed when it comes cultivation, however sometimes it’s quite absurd when the author spends 1/3rd of a chapter just explaining a courtyard. There are almost no likeable characters in this novel, everyone seems to be a piece of shit that pulls the main character into power struggles, which is not very well done, it’s only them trying to kill him. There is almost no complexity when it comes to the political struggle, interesting events or plot twists, it is just very dull to read. The author has done a very well job on the cultivation but fails horribly when it comes to making the reader interested in the story or characters. Cultivation is probably the only positive thing about this novel, but the author introduces far too many things without building up, like divine abilities, special body types, soul types etc, just so many things introduced that you don’t know where to focus and there are so many variables that it becomes messy.
