This series for me was an enormous disappointment. Let me give a little background about this author and his other series. This series was made by Ruqing Rusu, an author known for his fanfics like Illimitable until Death, Maiden Grand Summoning and Holistic Fantasy.
This author’s first 3 works were, in my opinion, some of the best anime fanfics you can find out there on the internet, Maiden Grand Summoning and Illimitable Until Death being some of my all-time favourite fanfics. Holistic fantasy is also probably one of the best fanfics out there, with some of the most solid and satisfying fighting scenes.
And then it came to his 4th series names Summoner of Miracles, which is by far the worst fanfic that he has made. This series is very long, filled with fillers, and an insanely overpowered and boring MC, like you know op MC can be cool as hell, take for example Ainz Gool Own from overlord of Saitama from One Punch Man. Rozen the MC of Summoner of Miracles is nothing like them , he is boring and always uses the same moves , even thou he supposedly has a myriad other moves.
The series also uses quite a few boring and fairly unpopular anime series in it, which I at least, never liked. The power pacing is so broken and flawed that from chapter 800+, the MC is basically invincible from that moment on to the end of the series, yes from that chapter thill the very end the MC can easily win the most fight in a few moves.
The series revolves around Chaldea and FGO, you would expect the harem/romance to be great in such conditions, but no.The MC is called “Summoner” but in the whole fkin series he barely summons any fkin servants and the author is so fkin brain dead and unoriginal that he decided to make Asuna form SAO the main waifu , even thou he had so many other fkin options.
The series is also filled with plot holes or unfinished plot and because the series has a lot of filers the ending had to be rushed . This author never had any great endings for any of his other series, but the ending in this series is hilariously bad like it’s utter garbage and unsatisfying.
You know, one thing I really liked at this author is how he always was able to make his series satisfying and for some like me, who reads for the satisfaction he was everything I could ask for, I was so disappointed when in SOM the author had nowhere near as much focus on satisfaction like his other fanfics.
And now that I filled you in with some info about the past let’s talk about this series The devil does not need to be defeated. And what can I say? did you guys really have any expectations for an author who has 0 experience with originals? I didn’t at least and I was right this series is very bland and boring, you can probably find another few Japanese series with the same or similar premise if you search on the internet for a short while.
Nothing new, nothing interesting, I’ve read 100 chapters but I didn’t find anything charming or interesting to it.I am so very disappointed, IMO he should have just continued to make fanfics, he was pretty good at it too. What a shame, I hope that after this series he will make another fanfic.

And I suggest you don’t get tricked by the ecchi/harem tags, we are talking about Chinese censorship here. And this author, because he had Maiden Grand Summoning, removed from Qidian , he became insanely cautious.
In Summoner of Miracles, the series he made before this one, the author didn’t even dare to mention the word sex directly, every scene that had anything to do w ecchi was almost not described at all or very vaguely described indirectly, so the closest thing to ecchi that we are going to get in this series probably is holding hands and kissing :)) , maybe not even those.
Anyway, in the end, do I believe that ‘ The devil does not need to be defeated ‘ is the worst series ever made? no, the series might be attractive and enjoyable to some, sadly it wasn’t my cup of tea, I’ve read far too many isekais to find this series with so many cliches enjoyable :)) , even more so when you take into consideration that this is a isekai series that has Chinese censorship.
I suppose it is normal, after all, you have seen it, the garbage of FF that they like to read compared to those who have written is like heaven and earth, he knows how to capture the essence of the characters and translate it into the novel, God how it thrilled me, I felt like I was reading the original work … 10/10 for all its works.

There is nothing very new, but the cliches are very well done and most end unexpectedly
For those who like it, it also has a bit of ecchi and a mature theme, very different from his other stories that it seemed that the author was afraid to mention these things.
