Five Star rated novel!
The main draw of the novel appears quickly, multiple cultivation systems with their own advantages. After 300 chapters, multiple worlds with their own unique history and corresponding cultivation systems appear (eg. powered suit world, beast world)!
Most novels requires 1000 chapters for the MC to ascend to a new world, while this novel does that in 50 chapters~!
The cheat is a skill upgrade system. There is no stat upgrade system, no AI Chip, only skill upgrade. The cheat is kinda a necessity for the story: you only come in contact with a new cultivation system after completing the previous one, right?
While beginning is quite slowpaced, it focuses on ghosts, horror and suspense when the MC is weak. Well, the novel picks up pace when the MC becomes strong, the focus changing to curbstomping ghosts. There is intrigue between factions and sects, with MC taking over one to become a player in the chess game. The author is good at multiple genres, so storywise it is pretty good.
And of course, the MC, Lu Sheng. I will simply transcribe a conversation that best describes the MC’s character here:

“But if you find out your life is a script written by someone, what will you do?”
A. > “I will kill the writer of that script. As long that person is human, that person can be killed.”

Anyway, this story is amazing. You should 10/10, certainly read it.

Finished reading the entire novel.
It is the first novel that I felt that the villains are not idiots and that the MC is not just a lucky little boy who had a cheat but an actual person who grows up through challenges.
The multiple realms in the novel are well defined and the side characters do not exist only to please the MC or validate his existence.
A 5-star novel for sure
It’s called way of devil but the MC is not evil at all. He’s the usual CN MC with Earth’s principle and stuff like “Since I already choose [insert unimportant female character name] then I won’t get in trouble outside”. And when he found out a big family punished the criminals of their family by letting them be a prostitute for strong people and give birth to a child, he said he felt sick. C’mon, MC is supposed to be devil, how come the MC can’t handle things like that.
Also there is inconsistency in MC’s cheat. At first the cheat can use all of of energy, including yang inner qi. But later it only use MC’s yin inner qi and can’t use yang innner qi or other energy with no explanation whatsoever.
It’s a decent but there are some noticeable flaws.
You are stupid, He is called heavenly devil because of the ability to invade other world and steal the essense or origin. MC is not a devil even practicing devil cultivation techniques does not mean he is a devil. Well it’s true he is selfish and little cold but compared to other orthodex cultivators he is a decent person.
That’s what I said eventhough the title is called Way of Devil, the MC is not evil.
